Our vehicles are always insured whilst on hire, as long as the hirer has not voided the terms and conditions of hire and they have their rental charges paid up to date or in advance. The standard insurance excess in the event of any damage loss or theft is $4,500 and must be paid before we can lodge a claim with our insurance company. Our insurance excess is applicable regardless of fault.

[00:43:29] If it is then deemed the accident is not at fault of our hirer, our excess will be refunded and Handy Rentals will arrange to refund the hirer directly.

[00:43:41] The standard insurance excesses can be reduced by paying the insurance reduction of $37 per day.

[00:43:49] For drivers age 25 to 75, the insurance excess is reduced to $750.

[00:43:57] For drivers age 21 to 25 the insurance excess is reduced to $1,500.

[00:44:04] For drivers age 75 to 85, the insurance excess is reduced to $1,750.

[00:44:24] There is an additional negligence excess of $2,000, which can not be reduced.

[00:44:29] This is applicable when another vehicle cannot be identified; there has been overhead or under body damage to the vehicle; the vehicle weight capacity has been exceeded and damage has been caused; the vehicle has been in a single vehicle collision or the vehicle has been towed or impounded.

[00:44:48] The hirer agrees to the vehicle condition as per the hire paperwork. It is the hirer's responsibility to ensure the vehicle they are taking possession of is the correct vehicle as per their paperwork and is in the condition as described on the paperwork.
